Fraser Hickox, the founder of The conceptual:™group, has worked in the hospitality industry for more than 30 years.  He entered the industry in 1985, when he established The Peninsula Hotel Group Research and Technology Centre dedicated to developing technologies appropriate for The Peninsula Hotel Group worldwide.  For more than 20 years with The Peninsula Group, he drove a number of hotel technology projects while developing the in-room and hotel technology, the most recent one being The Peninsula Tokyo.

 

Fraser has been recognized with the following awards: University Medal, Personalite de l’Anne – Internationale Hotellerie and has been inducted into the Hospitality Hall of Fame HFTP 2008.

 

Under Fraser’s leadership, The conceptual:™group has worked on technology projects with many other hotel groups including the Excelsior Hotel Gallia in Milan, The Lanesborough Hotel in London, Burj Al Arab in Dubai, The Wajba Palace in Doha, Copthorne Hotels Limited projects including the South Beach in Singapore, among others.

 

The company has been responsible for many simple but interesting product development in the technology arena, including a deck chair steward signaling device to resorts, a luggage bench with a built-in scale, a pod chair for next generation hotels and the development of LED light sources for their applications for hospitality including the minimizing of flying insect attraction.

 

The main Conceptual goal is toward the pursuit of the hospitality differentiator recognizing that this continually is in a state of flux but is recognized by our guests.

Most important we are passionate about what we do and how it is done evidenced by guest reaction and the success of implementation over the years. We are always striving to identify the next big step to further enhance our guest stay.
